What is the one thing you will do differently based on what you learned?

I love Jeff Madoff's story about the part in a script that wasn't serving a purpose and needed to be removed. That was a good analogy for staying the course and keep clear on the purpose. I also love the revised definition of success which is not acquisition (I know about the "I know I'm being successful when..." tool!" Last, Dean Jackson and Jeff Madoff's discussion on the buying reflex / the desire to purchase without really selling any functionality. That a Brand is a story that's well-told.

How will you hold yourself accountable to ensure that you apply one or two things you learned?

As I am trying to build my marketing and consultancy business, these are great reminders as I try to get and keep new clients, trying to build their brand is about telling their story; understanding their purpose and communicating it in a compelling way.

What new actions would you take?

It brings new questions to mind that I need to take note of before I write a marketing proposal. Or I have to figure out what the conversation is that's happening in their heads. I think it also helps with the mindset of it being a marathon and not a sprint. I really just have to hold it together and persevere until success is achieved.
